Reason and divine truth

The danger of leaning too heavily on reason is that we may begin to use intellect as a key to life--something to be absorbed, yet never fully extracted.
A mind that exaggerates its own power can become distracted from reality.
Without scripture, there is a risk of believing divine truth is only real when everything makes sense, rather than trusting the revelation found in the bible.
Intellect is meant to work with God, not independently.
As scripture warns,
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil
Proverbs 3:7
